Keystone Opportunity Zone Expansion and Technical Change Bill (HOUSE BILL #2498, PN 4208) was signed into law by Governor Ridge on December 20, 2000. The two most significant points of the Bill are the fact that the zones can be expanded and new zones created and the term of the tax relief can be extended to December 31, 2013.
Twelve new zones equaling more than 10,000 additional acres were designated where local governments, school districts and the State eliminate taxes to stimulate job creation and renewal throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
