Roddy Inc., the Bensalem, PA based industrial and commercial real estate brokerage firm, represented SSM Industries, Inc. in the acquisition of 1425 Grandview Avenue, Mid-Atlantic Corporate Center, West Deptford, Gloucester County, NJ.
Frank Roddy, President of Roddy Inc. who handled the transaction on behalf of the Buyer, SSM Industries, Inc. advised that the 46,142 square foot one-story building located on 3.19 acres was purchased for an undisclosed sum and the Seller was represented by David Ricci of The Flynn Company.
Pittsburgh-based SSM Industries, a custom designer/manufacturer of HVAC ductwork, piping and supports, has been providing qualified products to the HVAC industry for over thirty (30) years and will be relocating its Philadelphia operations to the West Deptford facility.
Thomas Szymczak, President of SSM Industries, Inc., advised that the company’s decision to locate in New Jersey was substantially driven by its desire to expand its business in New Jersey and the State’s Business Employment Incentive Program (“BEIP”) which program provides grants to businesses that create jobs in New Jersey. The Grant provided to SSM over a period of 10 years could amount to a very substantial sum and the projected new employment in the State is anticipated at 70 high paying new jobs. Mr. Szymczak went on to say the coordinated effort of the governmental bodies throughout the State, County and Township on the project were extraordinary from Lieutenant Governor Kimberly Guadagno, Gloucester County Dept of Economic Development Executive Director Lisa Morina, West Deptford Township Mayor Anna Docimo and New Jersey Economic Development Authority representative Joseph Constance who played the stellar role along with Harris Friedberg, also of the NJEDA, in obtaining the BEIP Grant. Frank Roddy of Roddy Inc, who coordinated the acquisition of the property and the obtaining of the Grant on behalf of SSM Industries, stated that Governor Christie should be proud to have Lieutenant Governor Guadagno as part of his team as well as having Joseph Constance and Harris Friedberg of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority on his team.
